Stardard Bank Sunnypark Mall Branch

I'm extremely disappointed with the service I received from Standard Bank when trying to open a stokvel account.

Our experience began on Tuesday at 2 pm when we were told it was too late to open an account and they are about to knock off (bank closes at 3:30pm) and that we should return on Saturday morning with proof of residence and ID copies of signatories. We returned on Saturday morning, only to be met with resistance and an uncooperative attitude from the staff.

Despite providing the requested documents, we were informed that our proof of residences were unacceptable. And there were so many things that they omitted on our 1st visit to the branch.

The staff seemed put off by our presence. They complained about the process being time-consuming and a "mission," which only added to our frustration.

The lack of professionalism and courtesy displayed by Standard Bank's Sunnyside branch staff was appalling. As a customer, I expect to be treated with respect and receive helpful guidance when needed. Unfortunately, my experience fell far short of these expectations.
