Standbank - The bank with no branches and no workable banking app.

Standard Bank has updated its security verification when doing online banking. In the past you would receive 2 OTP requests. Now you need a OTP and to scan a QR code. You cannot scan a QR code using the same device you busy with. This means you need to do your banking using 2 devices. 2 phones or a phone and a pc. When I spoke to standard bank they told me that it is not their policy, but that it is the requirements at SD instant transfer. When I phoned SD instant transfer, they are saying authentication and verification is done by the bank. Standard Bank send the OTP pin and request to scan the QR code. Standard Bank do not want to assist me, they told me to use 2 devices when I do my banking. This renders the banking app completely useless, as I don't carry 2 phones with me. Standard bank has closed half their branches as they are moving to a digital platform. This makes going to Standard bank like going to home affairs' Hours of quing with limit to no help. So I cannot go to my bank, and they don't want to help me over the phone. Think my only option is to go to FNB. I hear they assist you if you have issues, they don't tell you to buy a 2nd phone.

The problem is still not resolved. Stating publicly that you take customer service seriously and actually doing something about problems customers are experiencing are 2 different things. Actions speak louder then excuses. I have not been able to do any cell phone banking or banking on my laptop for since last week.
