Standard Trust Limited is failing the living by dishonouring its deceased.
My deceased mother’s estate has been handled by Standard Trust Limited since her passing in 2016. Although communication and feedback were initially fine, lately it has become tedious to deal with them. The main issue at hand is that I requested for my mother’s house, vacated since 2017, to be sold, and STL (through the person appointed to my mother’s estate) had given me permission to proceed ‘however I want’ (I still have the email as proof). When the transaction began, I requested that we use the transferring attorneys I’d found that helped organise the sale in the first place, and it took STL a whole month to reply to my request. The transferring attorney issue was sorted out end October, and now there’s an OTP that requires signatures from the executor. It’s been two weeks of no response, and the lady dealing with my matter not only ignores my emails, but she adamantly refuses to return my calls either. This is now turning into a matter of sabotage, as I cannot afford for this transaction not to take place. The house continually becomes a liability as every day passes, and STL will not help me fix things when the house is broken into. When I call, I can only go as far as reception. This transaction will soon expire, and when it does I’m not sure I will have the heart to endure yet another failure because of their lacklustre response.
