Standard takes money without permission

I requested bank statements. Standard Bank then took R 600.00 off my bank account without informing me that this would happen! These statements were not even printed. They have since told me they will pay the money back with extra charges, I am still waiting!???! They cannot take money off my account without telling me this will happen, I would never have requested these statements if I was told that is the cost.
