Standard of service is extremely poor

I fell behind in my account in Jan 2025 due to unpaid leave because I was pregnant. Since I am back at work I have been paying my accounts every month.

Account has been handed over to their lawyers.

I accepted the settlement discount and paid in full on the 29 Jan 2026. I requested a paid up letter and I was told it would take 7 - 14 working days. I enquired if my debit order would go off after I paid my settlement balance and I still have not received any feedback. On 7 Feb 2026, I made the effort to go into the bank to enquire about the matter and I was told that they can't help me because I am already dealing with a third party regarding my account. This morning, 10 Feb 2026, what happens. A debit order tries to go off. Bounces back because there is insufficient funds and I am charged an unpaid fee of R130.

I am so cheesed off this morning. You guys are quick to threaten us with lawyers and stuff but give us ****ty service when we need your assistance.

I have been with Standard Bank for most of my career life but if this is the service I am going to get from now on then I feel it is time I should move my and kids accounts to another bank
