Standard Bank's Efficiency vs Effectiveness

One should never judge a bank [or person] based on one unfortunate experience. I've found the consultants to be satisfactory, and the last time after a difference, the matter was settled superbly. Time-and-motion studies should be able to determine their efficiency. They don't seem to know more than the absolute minimum. Let me clarify : If a prospective client, wants to invest in a fixed deposit, the client should be informed about the tax implications. Do they mention that any amount exceeding R34 500 interest for 65 years and older, is taxable? So, financial "empowerment" is lacking. Surely, they should be " au fait " with these tax implications. Generally, they lack some finer knowledge.
