Standard Bank - WORST BANK TO DEAL WITH

Standard Bank is the worst bank to deal with. I had a personal loan, requested settlement after which I settled the account. Upon phoning them to request a closure letter, I was advised I had to go into a branch to close the loan account. I explained to them that I had not need to go in to open it why go to a branch - far away from me as they decided to closed so many of them - sit there for how long, just to ask them to close the account. They then agreed to close it on my behalf, and supp**** me with a reference number ***. They trust you to open a loan online, but do not trust you to close it telepathically?? I contacted them today again, now apparently there are no notes of such sort on the system, and they keep on saying I will HAVE to go to a branch. Upon requesting to speak to a Supervisor, they just transfer me to another department. This is absolutely shocking service. No wonder you had to close branches, your service is up to &$)&%!!!
