Standard Bank VAF - Internal ***** & ******** Repossessing
So In 2017, I bought a car through your Standard Bank, the term loan term was 72 Months last payment date was 22 November 2023, I paid a deposit of R15 000 and the total cost of the agreement is R227 016.72.
In 2020 I fell in arrears, four months to be exact. 14 September 2020 I submitted a form to get those arrears respread for June, July, August & September, It got approved by Standard Bank and I signed the amendment form sent by David Mathebula who works in the Credit Operations|Centralised Admin department.
I was just happy that It was approved I signed and sent it back, From there I paid a bit extra every month to try to cover the arrears quicker, but instead I still ended up in arrears again In 2021, I decided to go under debt review as I thought I was over-indebted because of the car, I continued paying,
To-date I have paid R216 515,79 towards the debt last week Sheriffs came to repossess my car and told me I owe R66 088,80 for the car. Yet My last repayment date is supposed to be on the 25th of September 2024 based on the restructure.
So I went back to look at the document that was sent and noticed that someone at Standard Bank *****ulently added an extra 6 months to my loan term of 72 months making it 78 Months + 4 months arrears in 2020.
I reached out to the bank only to be met with a rude individual named Nonhlnhla Bandze, who told me I’m not being transparent (Honest) when I told her what was happening and that there is a mistake. Even after sending the relevant documents her response on email was;
“Good day, *** Kindly find attached statement from inception to date this will show your payment history and missed instalments. To open the statement simply use your ID number. Your term is currently on 76 months not 82 months meaning your contract was reduced by 6 months not extended. Please find attached section 86.1 debt review termination notice. Regards Nonhlanhla”
Now I need you Standard Bank to explain to me how on earth a bank can reduce a repayment term without alerting me and sending documents to sign and making an error of 6 months that has not only ruined my standing at the credit bureau leading to my lending power dropping for the last 3 & a half years but now you have taken my car and expect me to pay you additional money for your mistakes.
This needs to be urgently sorted out I need my name cleared at the credit bureau, high court and I want my car back! we can solve this in an amicable manner.
We are saddened to hear that this has been your experience.
We take these matters very seriously and can assure you that we will be attending to your query with urgency.
We will be taking a closer a look and will get back to you shortly.
Kindest regards

You have failed to explain why I am being overcharged by 55k, you guys ruined my credit profile for over three years straight and you expect me to just let it go well but with all the evidence litigation and going public is the only way.
