Standard Bank Trust

It has been 5 years since both my parents passed away. Standard Bank Trust department sold the house that my sister and I were living in without our knowledge. We were both in our early twenties, in university. We went from having a home to go-to for the holidays to being stuck at relatives’ houses. It is one thing to deal with grief, but adding homelessness is overwhelming. The estate told us the proceeds of the sale from the house would assist in winding up the estate. My sibling and I thought we’d be able to buy our own house with the proceeds remaining from the winding of the estate. But 5 years later, the estate has still not been wrapped up. We don’t have enough money to pay for school fees or get a place to live. In these 5 years, we have had 3 different executors who get chopped and changed and we are only made aware of it once we send an email asking for an update but the email bounces back. We constantly send emails requesting updates, we travel to meet up with the executor and get fed promises that don’t get delivered. Our father used to be the provincial director of the Eastern Cape at Standard bank, working out of the very same branch which is treating his estate like this, his children like this. He would be ashamed of the treatment and incompetence that his colleagues are now showing.
