Standard Bank Stole My Life - I Paid For It
I have been with Standard Bank for 16 dedicated long years. Never had a bad thing to say about my experience with them even though everyone around me was complaining about how expensive their services are, I stayed because I trusted them. Things took a dramatic plunge since last year March 2020. I became the victim of online ***** immediately after being offered an increase on my credit card. Ironically the amount (R30 000) which I was granted increase, got ****** (transferred in several transactions to a few, but repetitive, accounts) the very same month. Sadly I only noticed this a few weeks later due to the nonstop calls for debt collection on all of my accounts. I printed statements and noticed that my debit orders would go off, I would receive the notification....then, my debit order would be placed back into my account and transferred to other accounts, without any message notification?????? I immediately phoned Standard Bank ***** department and the lady who assisted at the time told me that its a very complicated scenario and that I wouldn't have even know if I didn't print statements. I opened a case at the Police station and awaited my long slow, agonizing wait. I had so much faith in Standard Bank. I really believed that they would put my life back onto track, clearly seeing that I had been ****** over a period of 6 months (back then) even while lying critically ill, with Covid, in hospital. I am a single mother of two, my whole world crumbled on me and I almost died, ended up in hospital for nervous breakdowns after being critically ill with covid for 7 weeks, in hospital on ventilation, survived by God's grace....only to start my battle with the mess that Standard Bank had brought over my life. I lost my house, I am still left with outstanding debts to this day. I had taken out a loan with Standard Bank for R15 000 to try cover some at the time (its been a year of paying almost R600 a month and I still owe R14800) To date it is almost R145 000 that Standard Bank "lost" or "let slip". I received an email from Standard Bank confirming that my account had been hacked but that the money had been transferred into a Nedbank account and that Nedbank refused to refund it as it had already been spent?????? Three weeks ago I called in for another claim of ***** (I couldn't close my bank account as I had so much credit card debt and no credit rating to ask anyone else for help) for the amount of almost R26 000. I received a message saying my claim had been resolved and money would reflect in my account within 3 business days. Got my new card, hopeful again, went to the atm to withdraw money for bread.....-R1736 in my account. I ask you how HOW could this be???????? I will never stop telling people how sly Standard Bank is and that every sent paid for their services to "protect" and "grow" your money is a ****
