Standard Bank Still" Moving backwards" with 247 one star reviews and 17 better since 1 June

As stated previously I have banked faithfully with Standard Bank for over 40 years with fairly substantial investments with them. One of the reasons I have stayed with them is the excellent service I get from their local Hilton Branch is excellent. Because of this service I have stayed with them despite the terrible service I get from their Head Office and other branches. However in their wisdom Standard Bank have decided to close their Hilton Branch and retrench their staff. Hilton is one of the fastest growing areas in the country with a growing number of businesses requiring to deposit cash and a large elderly population that does not like electronic banking. One would think that Standard Bank would meet with their customers before deciding to close this branch, but no they decide to close the branch and then meet with customers. They then learn that of the 50 odd customers at the meeting all are closing their accounts, including large customers and those who require wage packets made up every week. However in their wisdom they keep two branches open that are less than half a kilometer apart but about 20 kms from Hilton or 12 from Howick where they have a branch with no parking. With all the housing and development in the area what would have made sense was a full branch where one can apply for house loans etc. However what can one expect from the experts at a bank that 'keeps moving backwards".

Interesting to note that since the 1 June their have been 264 reviews on HelloPeter and of these 247 have been 1 star reviews and 17 better than one star. As normal one will receive the normal response from Standard Bank to say that a consultant will contact you. Dont hold your breath because they wont.!!!
