Standard Bank should be Shambolic Bank

We were wanting to open a bank account at Std Bank for our 16 year daughter. I went to Std Bank Kingsmead to enquirer what documentation was required and they rep**** her unabridged birth certificate, last school report and my proof of address (not older than three months). We duly went to that branch thereafter on 14 Feb to open the account. It took 90 minutes for them to process the request. The account number was only provided the following day telephonically and we were asked to bring back the school report as they did not scan it correctly. We therefore went back to the branch today only to be told that they cannot accept the 2019 report as it’s not a current document. This is despite the fact that they accepted it last Friday. Given that it’s Feb 2020, what other school report is there to provide as the year end 2019 is the last report issued. Lastly, after a week they cannot tell my daughter if her card for the account is available. This is absolutely ridiculous service. It takes three visits and we still don’t have a valid account or bank card.

Reviewer Update
Goodness me. How *********** can Std Bank be. I gave you a rating of 1 and if you bothered to read the review, you would have read that I was not happy with your service. Total incompetence and I should expect nothing less given my poor experience with std bank since 14 Feb 2020.
