Standard Bank sending 73 year old pensioner on a wild goose chase to find a lawyer
Despite having signing rights for her 91-year-old mother suffering from dementia, Standard Bank had a 73-year-old woman walk up and down looking for a lawyer because the signing rights documentation could not be found on their computer system. She went back to the bank because she did not have R20 000 to pay a lawyer. The woman begged them to look for the documents as it was kept by the bank. The branch manager, who was very unwilling to do so, eventually found it.
