My wife got a call from a Standard Bank consultant a few months ago who sold her a credit card protection policy for R4 odd per month. It pays off any outstanding amount on your credit card once you pass on. Turns out however that the the amount you pay is linked to the outstanding balance on your card so the last two payments were for R60 plus and R70 plus. Naturally she cancelled immediately but the bank made a nice score in the meantime.
Nice going Standard Bank, carry on scoring off your customers.
