Standard Bank Refused to change my bank details even after 2 monts after agreeing.

Around 25 July I contacted Standard Bank Insurance to inform them that my bank details changed.

In August they still had the audacity to deduct from my old bank account incurring costs to me for "dishonored" debit order.

I have left about three complaints here on hellopeter, and the generic reply is that they are looking into it.

In the meantime Standard bank insurance had the audacity in sending me an sms that my premium wasn't paid and my insurance suspended.

I again contacted you here on hellopeter... Telling you to cancel my insurance if you are not even capable of changing a debit order to another bank as was requested and discussed with you. Keeping an eye on my current bank account this month I was surprised to find that SB insurance yet again didn't deduct my premium. I assumed you honoured my request and cancelled my insurance.

I just recieved an sms from my old bank, Nedbank. That I must immediately make payment into my account as a debit order was taken without any funds in the account.

I checked and saw SB insurance took two payments, AGAIN from my OLD bank account (Nedbank), without any money in that bank account.

Around 25 July I phoned an specifically requested that my account changes in June to Capitec, and you confirmed debit order from August would be taken from Capitec on the 22nd of every month thereafter.

I have just reversed the debit order you tried to take money from an old inactive bank account.

I hold YOU responsible for the last two months banking fees that was added because of this. Because this was NOT agreed to.

The telephonic agreement was for the 22nd of every month from August on my Capitec account.

I cannot deal with such incompitace anymore wasting my time and money. I'd rather deal with a professional insurance company who do what they promise and agree with the customer.

And all my complaints about this matter here on hellopeter was just completely ignored.

I see this whole matter as complete arrogance from your side. The might Standard bank do whatever they like and play games with their customers.

Again I urge you in writing that you are not willing or able to changed my debit order. And my outstanding is esculating and my bank fees in an inactive account are getting more and more because of your arrogant ignorence.

Either re install my insurance, pay the banking fees and fines YOU caused on my OLD account 2 times after we agreed that my new bank is Capitec, and waiver the premium of last month and or immediately cancel this policy as I have requested more than once before here on hellopeter.

That is what was said on my previous hellopeter complaint. But still they keep trying to take the debit order from the wrong account.

Even again yesterday trying to take 2 payments from an old account (without my consent), even AFTER I informed you in my previous hellopeter complaint that I would rather you cancel my insurance and I get another from another institution who are able to change bank accounts.

My insurance was suspended laat month because of your incompitace and now this month you tey to deduct 2 payments? Why must I pay for something you suspended?

Hello.
I was called and (hopefully this time) my bank details changed.

However Standard bank insurance is horrible at the least. And I am looking for another insurance company as of now. Why?

1. I have been trying for 3 months to change my bank details, by calling, email. And several hellopeter complaints. It wasn't done and my old bank account was kept being debited and now I'm 2 premium in arrears.

2. Standard bank (unlike other major institutions) won't let you choose your debi check date.
Mt pay date is the 22nd of each month. All my other payments are debited on the 22nd. Standard Bank won't allow customers to choose their preferred date, but only option of the 20th or the 25. Which is either too early or too late

3. Once you are in arrear with SBIB, (not because of your own error bit SBIBs error), they do not allow you to pay the arrears amount to them manually. You have no option but to wait until the next month debit order.
Like I'm 2 payments in arrears because of SBIB messup. I don't want to pay 3 payments next month so I wanted to pay the two arrears payment immediately. SBIB refused and told me their customers cannot make manual payments for arrears

4. Unlike other major insurance components, SBIB does not have an online option for customers to manage their policy and to change or control bank details, and debit order dates.

5. All this is bad to one's health and my blood pressure is very high at the moment.

These basic things are totally unacceptable. And need to change if you want customers.

I rate SBIB one of the worst cust mer care companies in SA along with RCS and Cell C and MTN.

I hope people read this and stay away. I will cancel ASAP and change to a company who at least let me choose when I want my account to debited, and should I get in arrears for whatever reason be able to pay in the money to keep your account in good shape.

Despite promises every month since July to change my banking details and debit order date to the 22nd and NOT the 1st, even after hellopeter complaints and long phone calls, it is now end of October and checking my bank statement SB insurance still haven't deducted the debit order and it's already the 26th.

I can not go on like this as it results in arrears premiums that will affect me if one day they do decide to deduct it according to my wishes and requirements. Already his is now 3 months the premium didn't go off due to the incompetence of SB insurance.

I CANNOT afford to have 3 or 4 months or more payments being deducted once.

Since you can't (won't assist according to my preference I instruct you hereby to cancel my policy with immediate effect, and send me written prove of this cancellation.

There are other insurance companies out there who assign the debit orders according to the clients preferences.

Please send me confirmation of policy cancellation ASAP, so I can get a new policy somewhere else.

Oh yes and another reason is that you won't allow clients to make manual EFT payments is another red flag from SBIB

The matter is being treated as priority - {from End July), to just change a debit order deduction date and bank account.

SBIB took my details more than once over the last 3 months, and yet even this month they didn't deduct the debt order.
I am now 3 months short of paying because of this, and you don't allow people to by via EFT rather.

This is pathetic service overall. And still no feedback as was promised.

SBIB - worse than ever.
