Standard bank refuse to give me services

For many years, over 20 years I have veen a Standard Bank customer. I am in very good standing on thw itc and can open accounts or make loans anywhere. Except my own bank. Standard bank.

They refuse to vive me a credit card (thabks Capitec and Nedvank, I am not a ******** in your eyes) and the refuse to give me an overdraft facility. Why? Wht is the reason I am being discriminated against by my own bank?

There is a fault in your system blocking or blacklisting me for gears and years and you can't solve this. This is really discriminating.

I must mention that your system still wrongfully indicate that I'm under debt review. But the truth is that I voluntarily withdrew from the debt counseling process and paid all my debtors INCLUDING all my Standard bank debt. That was in January 2015 and the debt councellor issued a 17.4 form to confirm termination of the debt counseling.

Standard bank wants a clearance certificate which I cannot obtain since I voluntarily withdraw in 2015 and if so only a 17.4 is issued and NOT a clearance certificate.

Even ALL the credit bureau removed the debt review status and everyone else except Standard Bank.

For over 20 years I'm a loyal customer but that means absolutely nothing. Standard refuses to accept an official 17
4 termination form and won't give me the same services orher banks (Capitec and Nedbank) currently offers me.

Why am I not currently under debt review from those financial institutions but only Standard Bank. 7 years later (after paying all the debt that was once on debt review Standard bank still penilises me and discriminates agains me as a person for this. Isn't it that after 5 years one should be cleared especially if all these old debts was paid?

Didn't I pay all my debt at Standard Bank by 2015?

As stated in my above comments....
I voluntarily withdrew from debt review in 2015. The debt councellor then issues me with a 17.4 notic of cancellation of the debt review. Then I settled ALL accounts by
2016.

After the debt revie was cancelled.

So a 17.4 form is a notice to all debtors that debt review was cancelled. Standard bank would have also gotten one.

I am in possession if that document still.
You can maybe look up what a 17.4 form is if you don't know.

No. It hasn't been after years of trying. All they can ever tell my is get a clearance certificate. I can't, because I am not on debt review. As I said I voluntary withdrew en then paid everyone that was listed. Therefore due to the 17.4 form my debt counsellor say he cannot issue a clearance certificate.

And Standard bank insists despite a good credit bureau rating and report for a few years now. Because your system shows I'm under debt review so I am no matter what. Thats Standards views.

So no the matter still hasn't been resolved. And please explain to me why Nedbank and Capitec can give me overdraft/ credit card if I was on debt review? Why does their systems not reflect any debt review anymore? Why does only Standard bank?

It's mind boggling.

The matter has not been resolved.
Standard bank still wrongfully claim that I am under debt review. This is false and defamation of character.

According to law you are obliged to furnish me with information where exactly you see that I am in fact under debt review
I need that information

I hereby officially instruct Standard bank SA, as a consumer, to furnish me, in writing, with full details why my application was rejected and keep being rejected, and also provide me with the source of your information that I am currently under debt review or debt counselling.

So I can attend to the source of this fals information ASAP, and clear my name.

You are obliged by law to furnish me with this information.
I contacted the NCR and they confirmed thay cannot find any evidence that I am currently under any debt review.

Here is the legislation:

Right to reasons for credit being refused 62. (1) On request from a consumer, a credit provider must advise that consumer in writing of the dominant reason for- (a) refusing to enter into a credit agreement with that consumer; (b) offering that consumer a lower credit limit under a credit facility than app**** for by the consumer, or reducing the credit limit under an existing credit facility; (c) refusing a request from the consumer to increase a credit limit under an existing credit facility; or (d) refusing to renew an expiring credit card or similar renewable credit facility with that consumer.

You requested a clearance certificate but the debt counsellors lawyers cannot issue me with such certificate because they say I am not listed in the credit buro.

If you do not revealed the direct source of this false information to me in writing within 24 hours from now I will report Standard bank SA to the NCR.

NCR couldn't find any listings on XDS and I also got reports from Experian and TransUnion and Im not listed as being under debt review.

Where do you get this info.

Regards
Standard Bank

My lawyer has apparently already sent this letter tou Standard bank:

We are acting on behalf of mr. J J Myburgh.

A form 17.4 was issued on 20 January 2015 in terms of which the Consumer withdrew from debt review, which was the accepted procedure before February 2015.

The consumer’s profile was amended accordingly with all the credit bureaus, the NCR and all credit providers, except with Standard Bank of SA Limited.

Copies of the Form 17.4 and a screenshot from the NCR Helpdesk are attached hereto for your convenience. Kindly amend your records immediately since your refusal to act accordingly causes the consumer financial difficulties and damages.

Thanking you in anticipation.
