Standard Bank protects outsiders making unauthorized debits instead of clients!

Just found out that regardless of whether you have authorized it or not, any company that you have given your card details to can continue to debit your account whenever they feel like for however long they feel like without you having any recourse whatsoever. I was under the impression, that Standard Bank offered their customers some form of security, however, this is not the case. So If I purchase and therefore authorize once a card purchases from Checkers, I am not informed that they can debit my account whenever they like whether for however long they like in the future and Standard Bank offers you no option to control this or protect yourself from this. With a world going online this seems very dangerous and counterproductive. When trying to call the call centre with the above, this was explained to me and no resolution other than to protect the company making the unauthorized debit.
