Standard Bank Private Banking Suite

In the process of looking for a bank that understands my specific needs and goals I came across Standard Bank Private Banking, being an award winning Private Banking suite I expected great things from them, however, I opened my Private banking account with them and unfortunately they were unable to assist me with the required facilities to move all my banking over to Standard Bank. As the banking suite is not cheap I requested that they close my account to avoid any service fees for an account I was not going to utilize. I requested the closure from my personal banker and received no response for a number of weeks, eventually I received an email stating that my account would become inactive If I did no make a deposit into the account at which point I tried to make contact with the private banking division again. The matter was escalated and I was told that I would receive urgent attention. Fast forward a week later and still no feedback from any Standard bank representatives...

I feel that this is not the level of service one would expect from an award winning Private Banking Suite and thus I will gladly be taking my business elsewhere. I would not recommend Standard Bank to anyone looking for any form of service from their bank.
