Standard bank personal loan

I took a personal loan with standard bank October 2016 and the payment was for 24 months. I called in standard bank five months back to ask how much was left to be paid and I was told around one thousand something rand. I called again on Friday 16th November 2018 to ask again now I am told seven hundred and something is left to be paid and I will be paying till April 2019 which does not make sense. I have a few questions that I need answers too.

1. I was told the loan debit order started December 2016 instead of October 2016. Why did the debit start late and who's problem is that? 2. The Loan payment is 24 months, why is it taking longer than 24 months to end?

I am unhappy with all that and the call centre has no answers for me and they keep on transferring me to different people. I have no time to go to the branch for answers. Can someone please assist because I cannot accept to be paying extra months for no reasons.
