Standard Bank, o Standard Bank, where art thou?
abortive, barren, bootless, empty, fruitless, futile, ineffective, ineffectual, in-efficacious, otiose, unavailing, unproductive, unsuccessful. hollow, idle, meaningless, pointless, valueless, worthless.
I have been a client of Standard Bank for most of my working life. +-35 years. I'm 60 years of age, still working, not an idiot and have not lost any of my mental faculties.
I have since November 2018 been trying to correct a credit ***** that happened without me transgressing any of the rules that apply to the use of my credit card. I have in the past had experience of how easy it is to fall for a ******* and after a lesson from Standard Bank, memorized what I am not to do. That is, Do not give out certain numbers or codes on your credit card when buying items over the phone, computer, etc. "The money just disappeared from the account without my assistance or me receiving any product from anywhere!!"
I have since then (November/December 2018) tried my best to have the misfortune corrected. The words in my first paragraph are not sufficient to explain my experience with the service of Standard Bank. I can but only guess that those in charge of the Credit ***** Unit of Standard Bank are totally *********** or part of the problem. I am promised action only to experience ABSOLUTELY NOTHING happening.
The responses to constant inquiries includes that “Standard Bank is sorry about the problem and delays in replying or resolving my issue and also vary from: - Complete the forms. - Sorry my computer was down. - I will get back to you. ("After some period of not receiving any reply I had to write to Hello Peter again before "something" happened"). - My computer was down. - The Credit ***** Unit Manager will contact you. - My computer crashed. - Etc, etc, etc, etc…………………………………………………………………………ad infinitum. - The last e-mail received. December 2019. Pls. take note of the 1 year time lapse:
"Good morning Mr Lubbe Thank you for your email. I am terribly sorry for the delay. My laptop crashed and I was waiting for it to be fixed and for all my emails to be recovered as I lost most of my emails. I spoke to the manager now again and I just need to ask what is the exact amount which you are claiming and I will let you know before close of business today. Your response will be greatly appreciated."
It was written on the forms I submitted!! A reply was sent to answer Standard Bank on the 12th of December 2019.
- A total ignoring of any e-mails sent since middle December 2019. Yes, I know what you are thinking and understand that everyone takes leave over this period. However, every e-mail I received to date as well as the amount of action flowing from it could have been done from a 1960's rusty green Volkswagen Kombi with WiFi on a snow white beach in the Bahamas or a dirty prison cell for drug smugglers and ******* bank officials in Guatemala. How will I know from whence no-help comes??
What to do dear Peter, what to do when writing to you does not even help???????????
