Standard Bank never fails to disappoint

My parents are out of the country, and I have been authorised by Standard Bank to conduct all their banking needs on their behalf. I get a call from Standard Bank yesterday, asking to speak to my dad regarding his card which is expiring. The person says she can't find any record of me having power of attourney, she can't give me any more information regarding what the call is about, and I need to call the branch, to clarify. I call the number she gives me, only to find that it goes through to the Call Centre, and the only advice they give me is to go into the branch, to see what the call was about.

It is 2016, yet I cannot sort this out by phone, and the only way to see what is happening is to physically go into the branch? Seriously?? I am seriously suggesting to my parents that they move their accounts to FNB, which seems like a bank that is embracing the modern age, and knows what customer service means.
