Standard Bank - Moving You Backwards

Will Standard Bank ever move itself forward into our (real) world????

For the past 5 years I always leave money in our credit card. On 2nd October (over statement month end) my balance went into debit of R11,600. I had to pay an amount of R348,01 before 26th October. On 16th October I paid R9,944.70. I paid 2 further amounts on 29th October (R1000 + R8,578.82). I've received emails and SMS's stating that: my account is in arrears I am in danger of impacting my credit rating negatively; and My card will be cancelled.

So I phoned the number given (3 Nov - 10H10). To be told by Fatima that making a payment on my account IN NO WAY ABSOLVES ME OF MY OBLIGATION TO PAY THE AMOUNT DUE????????? Please write an email and explain myself and ask for the payment of R9,944.70 to be correctly allocated. (Dinkum!)

I sent the email with proof of payment (which Fatima clearly already read off my statement) and a request that it be allocated as necessary (not knowing Standard Bank behind the scenes training lingo and all).

My November statement dated 3rd November has just arrived. It includes a "Late fee" of R170 deducted from my account.

AND - WAIT - ANOTHER email on 4th November "We have noticed your Gold Credit Card is currently not up to date. An amount of R 348.01 is currently outstanding. We understand that these are difficult times and we are here to help you get back to your best. Email us to discuss various solutions tailored for you."

Really? Can anyone TRUST this twaddle?
