Standard Bank Moving Forward on step Backward at a Time

From Granting a loan to fulfilling the loan from February and still counting making Standard Bank the most inefficient bank I have yet dealt with. Their home loan department seem to not want to finalize a deal and the seam to have only form answers to questions, when asking why is something takes so long to different people it is like listening to recording.

OK so the story, in beginning of the year we decided that we would like to move into a more quite lifestyle, identified an erf in Jbay and started the process , with Standard Bank coming back first with a good deal we though they aare the choice, but looks like that is where service seem to stop with them.

Time line round start Feb 2018 loan granted and accepted, mid Feb 2018 Lawyers appointed, so far so good. Start March 2018 unfortunately error on paperwork seen by lawyer, they promptly ask Standard Bank for rectification, there is where is stops the close to acceptable service that is. By start May 2018 a rectification of the paper work not yet made and I start phoning eventually that is rectified, hoping that things may now catry on at the initial pace. too much to ask for now the appointed lawyers are slow to get he response form the bank, then at long last signed the docs, at about 8th of May 2018, now surely things may progress, but no now after documents uploaded a request for more documents, surely the lawyers should have an exact list of docs, every time a document is uploaded they tell me (call desk staff) it can take up to 5 days for the documents to even reflect at the bank. So on the 4th of June the last documents got into the system about 2 days later after a shouting match and logging a case on the complaints resolution site (yes I did that as well) the status eventually got to assessment required, now in that status for at least 5 days, one has to wonder with the technology of today: 1. Why does document exchange take so long 2. How it is so difficult to get things expedited if everything is inter linked with technology, or have the several billion rand spent Standard Bank for technology updates just gone to waste 3. Seeing that Jeffereys Bay is only a 45 minute drive from PE how does it take so long to get an assessor to inspect the piece of land in a well established Jbay area.

I have to wonder if there is still too many people involved and if those people actually know how to drive the processes in the bank.

Really disappointed even with a complaint logged as it sit here and typing waiting for a promised call back from Standard Bank which I will likely not receive and will have to phone the again to hear the same rehe****d excuses, sorry sir the status has not changed, we have escalated this waiting for a response...

Response 7 hours ago, call back none, almost another working days time with no action as promised, seems like a promise at this bank is just an empty one, is this the norm then?
