Standard bank Moving Backwards

I recently went under debt review, debt reviewers notified my creditors about the way forward, but one of the creditors had been debiting me straight from the bank card instead of account number, I had to go to the branch to try to see why the guys were debiting even though they been notified of my current financial status, the lady at the bank informed me that the creditor has the long number that is written in front of my bank card hence I can't reverse the funds. She then went on to say she would open a new "mymo" account that will allow me to have a new bank card but same account number. I did double check with her and asked her if this will not cause any confusion with my company as they pay me via old account, she assured me that my old account number will not change whatsoever, paid comes and I check into my standard bank app of any differences but nothing shows that I got paid. The implications of this ordeal is beyond my strength judging by my financial status. People think that when you visiting a branch you are perhaps bored, not to mention the traumer one goes through to finally sit in front of a banker to get your stuff sorted.
