Standard bank money stuck in Trust account 4 families sevrely affected.
We recently put a offer in on a house, there were 6 transactions in a row. 2 have registered successful. The transferring lawyer paid the cancellation figures into the trust account of the cancellation attorney. This is normal practice. This is a Nedbank trust account. Two days before registration the attorney died. The money is stuck in his trust account with Nedbank. All the parties involved have given permission for the money to be rolled back from Nedbank to Standard bank so that the transactions can continue. Standard bank is ridiculous then they want to see the permission. Then they pass the buck to Nedbank then they say no the money has to go into the late estate. Nobody can get them on the line which is normal in this day and age. In the mean time I now have to pay R16 500 occupation rent that I did not budget for. The people above me in the row have to pay R8 500 that they did not budget for. The people above them have received a fine from there seller they are pentioners of R13 500 plus occupation rent of R8 500. The people above them have a daughter that has to leave the country they only have time till the 4th December. This is ridiculous . People sit behind desks they look at a email and are simply to lazy to work on the email and get things sorted out. Here we have a situation that has come up that does not happen every day and no one from Standard bank knows how to solve it. All they have to do is to give permission and ask for the money back into there account from where it has come from. But they do not care. In the mean time four families are severely affected by there incompetency. I wanted to move my businesses over to standard bank but never will I do it after this experience with them. They do not know about client services and do not care about the families nor there investments.
