Standard Bank Mobile - Think twice
On the 4th of September 2023, I queried my Standard Bank Mobile account via the support e-mail address. Although I got a response, my questions weren't answered. I phoned the customer support number on the same day to query why the mobile service and all services and bundles on that account has not been cancelled (which was requested in July already). I then received an e-mail on the 9th of September stating that I am still liable for the subscription as I haven't cancelled the contract yet (as stated, I requested the cancelation in July) On the 25th of October another two debit orders went through my account, one for R55, which is the subscription and an amount of R13,45 which I have no idea what that is for and no at Standard Bank Mobile can tell me what it is for. Here's my problem: 1. a 2 gig bundle was loaded on my account without my consent or me knowing about it 2. The last SMB debit order went off my account on the 1st of September, meaning logically speaking that if there was a another debit order that had to go off it would've been on the 1st of October, not the 25th of October as it happened. I have not changed my debit order date at any stage. 3. Can any one please tell me why SMB raises two debit orders every month, one for the subscription, and in this case one for R13,45? 4. Due to the fact that I am in the process of closing my Standard bank account, and that I am already using another bank account, I have not bothered changing my debit order details with SMB (because the line is cancelled RIGHT?) I have now incurred additional bank charges of R294 for the two returned debit orders for the month of October. 5. WHY HAS THIS NOT BEEN CANCELLED? WHY WAS THERE A 2GIG DATA BUNDLE LOADED ON THE ACCOUNT WITHOUT MY CONSENT? WHAT IS THE R13,45 FOR? IS SMB GOING TO REFUND MY BANKING CHARGES? CAN ANYBODY PLEASE GET BACK TO ME WITH CONCLUSIVE ANSWERS? I have requested the recordings of the phone call I made on the 4th of September and have all the mails I sent to SMB requesting the above information, which I still don't have answers for.
