Standard bank mailicious
Standard Bank is malicious. We have had trouble paying our bond. We made decision to sell house to not default on loan. On completion of sale, which was cash, we forwarded documentation and availability of monies on completion of sale to Standard Bank as evidence that outstanding balance was well covered. Letter was sent from legal firm handing transaction. We had been behind on payments but made new arrangement, bond was paid up to date.

We requested that as we were unable to pay monthly bond the amounts not paid be added to outstanding balance and be settled on sale. Payment is guaranteed. Standard Bank acknowledged receipt of letter. The registration of house and release of funds has been slightly delayed (month) as result of normal administrative procedure (clearance from local Municipality) but amount due is still more than adequately covered. Yesterday the lawyers requested new settlement value as documentation is now in order and were told that bond had been handed over to litigation department. Why?

I find this completely unreasonable, borders on harassment. Standard bank have guarantees they will be paid, have contact details to confirm progress but want to litigate?
