Standard Bank made a big mistake with my student loan account by giving me a debit order of R29 000 that should have been R1000, Battling for over 4 months to sort it out.

I started when i decided to start paying of my student loan account. I went in to Standard Bank Centurion branch and we signed for a monthly debit order of R1000, when the time came for the debit order to go off it was an amount of R29 000.

There after i was at the branch about 3 times trying to sort out the the problem that Standard Bank caused but each time they do something wrong again:

The first time they transferred the amount of R29 000 from the Student loan account back into my cheque account, not long after that ANOTHER R29 000 have been transferred into my cheque account.

The second time i went in they said that the system did an automatic transfer to correct the problem. They then returned the amount.

After this i did not even know what was going on anymore, there was an excess of R29 000 still missing from my student loan account. I was on the phone for hours and couldn't resolve the problem.

I went in for the third time and requested a manager. I told the manager (Bafetile B Hlongwane) the whole story and she said that she will urgently look into the problem and CC me in every conversation and if the problem is not resolved within 3 days it would be take up to a higher order. But then nothing...

After about 5 days she eventually contacted me and said i must send them the initial amount loaned for the study loan. Why should i send them the info? Isn't Standard Bank supposed to have every document on record?

About 20 days later another lady contacted me and said the issue is resolved and the amount of R29 000 would be back in my Student loan account on a certain date with the interest build up due to the amount. She also apologized for Bafetile and said she was in an car accident, hence the hold up.

The date came and nothing happened so i once again emailed the manager (Bafetile B Hlongwane). She then told me "I was out of office for a while due to family emergency, only came back today will look into it and let you know." They can't even keep their stories straight.

After about a week after, the R29 000 was eventually repaid into my student loan account. The interest due to the R29 000 has not been sorted out as yet, and i am still waiting for a response after i emailed the manager once again.

STANDARD BANK WASTED MANY OF MY DAYS INCLUDING MANY HOURS SPEND ON THE PHONE DUE TO AN MISTAKE THEY MADE AND CAN NOT CORRECT, IF SOMEONE NEEDS A STUDENT LOAN DO BOT DO IT AT STANDARD BANK!
