Standard Bank Loan insurance? Bah!

Such disappointing service. I carry insurance on my personal loan, against retrenchment. It took Standard Bank 5 months to respond and initiate the insurance, but it has been backdated 6 months. Standard Bank has received the insurance pay out, but they still deducted money within the insured time frame, and tell me it is simply a reduction on the loan amount. Clearly I am daft, as I thought insurance would obviate the need for deductions, and had hoped for a refund on those transactions. Not only was this laughed off, but a further deduction was made this month. Seems like doubke-dipping to ne, in a time when I have no source of income.
