STANDARD BANK IS THE WORST BANK IN SOUTH AFRICA!!! SHOCKING TREATMENT!
After being sent from pillar to post and suffering the humiliation of having my car repossessed from my place of work in front of my colleagues I HAVE TO LODGE A SERIOUS COMPLAINT AGAINST STANDARD BANK. The INCOMPETENCE and BAD SERVICE I have received from them is beyond shocking. I absolutely cannot believe that such an established bank can treat loyal customers the way I have been treated! I have my vehicle financing with Standard Bank, I’ve had my car for 3 years and HAVE NOT ONCE defaulted on my monthly car instalments. My fiancée lost her job end of last year and finances were tight in the household, I missed my February instalment and immediately called Standard bank to inform them of my unfortunate circumstance and requested a 3 month payment holiday to which they agreed. Paper work was sent, signed and agreed upon. Yet in March the debited the car instalment and in April I was double debited. So the agreed upon 3 month payment holiday NEVER WENT INTO EFFECT. I have been paying my monthly instalments with no issues then out of the blue on Monday 5 November men arrived at my place of work to inform me that they had been instructed by Standard bank to take my car and if I resisted, the police would be called. My car which I need for work was taken from me there and then, I was instructed to take my belongings out of the car. I’ve been on the phone with Standard Bank since yesterday and no one can give me a straight answer. Everyone I’ve spoken with is at Standard Bank playing the blame game. I'm being sent from here to there to everywhere!!! Even though I have ALL the communication with all the proof, my car is STLL impounded. I’ve been told that I have to wait for a letter which will either be posted or emailed to me to inform me how much I need to pay in order to have my car back. That amount will include the services of the people who repossessed my car. THIS LEVEL OF INCOMPETENCE IS ABSURD AND HIGHLY DISTURBING. I am now in limbo, I have to borrow a car and my car is how I earn my living.
