Standard bank insurance policy dilema
I am the holder of a standard bank insurance policy (motor vehicle). Taken out in Feb 2015 for a chev spark. I was registered as the primary driver however at the point of sale I advised whomever my daughter would also drive the vehicle. This was never captured and overlooked on the policy. on the 8th of October my daughter had a collision with a barrier on the M4 North in Durban, at 02h45 on her way home from work (Hotel Trade).<br> Police report and claims were filled out with standard. two weeks later after pressing the matter I was advised that a investigator would come to Durban to met and question my daughter. (21) driving at 02h45 in the am....well she works the 4pm to 02h30 shift in a hotel. I assisted with the investigation. I was notified yesterday that due to my daughter not being the registered driver, the risk profile would be re-assessed and in this instance and due to the fact I was given the benefit of the doubt (go figure) and standard were unable to retrieve the voice recording from point of sale (system error) I be informed that I am the lucky winner of paying 58% plus the excess on the claim. long live outsurance....never use standard bank insurance
