Standard bank insurance ..
Good day All.
About a week ago.. my vehicle had been accident damaged.
I then went to report at Saps, then called insurer, Standard bank.. SBIB...
Then, I was informed to make contact with assessor. Which normally, one would assume.. an assessor would make contact with you to arrange day and time to conduct assessment.
To my suprize, I was sent a message via whatsapp, requesting pictures of the damages. I found this to be quite unprofessional and also abnormal. Normally an assessor would come do a physical inspection and also discuss the accident etc etc.
5 days later, after many phone calls and emails which I had to make as no one bothered to follow up.. I was told by panel beaters that the affected and or damaged areas on the vehicle due to the accident had not been approved by thee assessors. Only a small portion of the damage has been authorized. I then called the assessor to get to the bottom of the report. This phone call did not go well. Assessor was adamant, based on his 16 years experience of sitting, sometimes standing, looking at the whatsapp pictures, the damage caused by accident is not, in his opinion, to be repaired.
What exactly do we pay insurers for? Do we now rely on individuals to attend Whatsapp scanning picture seminars? How to validate a claim via whatsapp..
Standard bank, is this the type of insurance service you offer? Your advertising on media television says otherwise yes?
Please rectify this silly mistake and have my vehicle repaired properly.. thats what we pay for? Insurance?
Or.
Do we pay for a whatsapp call centre agency evaluating and deciding what should be repaired?
Are the assessors qualified? Yes? No?
How do they justify the claim? Do you not need to send report to me to check if the assessment is correct? Mabe you missed 90% of the repairs needed to be done?
Or.
Do you go on what assessors say as they definitely would do below minimum repair? Do you pay them for each item they try over look? The less they approve the more you pay them??
