Standard Bank home affairs REMAINS INCONVENIENT despite the way its advertised
I read a review on here by Jason B about how inconvenient standard bank home affairs has been in his experience. I am currently experiencing the same inconvenience.
Standard bank home affairs in canal walk is advertised as convenient for standard bank account holders but it is anything but. I just completed my application and payment online in order to obtain my passport.
The so-called convenience comes in when it is time to make an appointment. So the idea is, instead of waiting in line at home affairs, if you an a standard bank account holder, you can schedule an appointment to complete your signing and fingerprints at the canal walk branch.
However, I've tried making a booking but it always returns with 'no available slots'. I went into the canal walk branch today and there were so few people that its hard to imagine that there are no available slots. I extended my 'to' date as far as the dates went and it still returned with 'no available slots'.
So where's the convenience? Firstly, there's no available slot and secondly if there is, it is a long wait. You may as well go to home affairs on a day you can then but that is the exact thing standard bank seems to promise you'll be able to avoid if you one of their precious customers.
Like I said above, I read a review from Jason B who had the same issue and standard bank does not seem to be bothered at all in fixing this issue.
