Standard bank has very poor private bank service

I opened a pvt bank acc with std bank and they offered me a credit card which i have not heard anything about and now they say 12 years ago i owened them money but they can't give me any details and now they say my bebt was written of??? So how can they deny me a creditcard if all other banks have no problems helping me??? The feedback i get from Std bank is very poor!! I have to mail and ask all the time! V
