STANDARD BANK Further Advance--Homeloans Devision
I have app**** for a further advance a while ago that was approved by standard bank. My intention was to consolidate my debt. To my surprise Standard bank cam back with an approval to but the figures did not add up. They valuated my property R400 000 less than what other financial institutions have valued it for by doing a desktop valuation where other banks has done an actual valuation. This would normally affect the interest rate due to the risk that they have to take. I have not argued with them and I accepted the deal the were offering me. The deal basically stated that I can not consolidate my debt with other institutions where I have debt . They were only prepared to settle my vehicle finance with Standard Bank. No mention of any other debt that I wanted to consolidate was part of the calculations. This would mean that my vehicle finance would be taken care of by the equity in my home loan based on valuation. Thus paying of my car over 30 years. At first I did not want to go this route a it did not seem like a wise direction. I have done calculations and decided to go ahead with this. On 23 November 2012 I received an sms stating that the bond is registered. The bondstatement reflects the amount paid to the registration attorneys as well as the funds paid to my vehicle finance. Today I called standard bank again (26/11/2021) and I was advised that the funds has been returned in to my bond. Meaning that the whole process has costed me about R10900.00 in registration costs and yet my vehicle finance has not been settled.I am so disappointed because of this. This is not my first encounter with Standard Bank. My credit card was the main issue but it seems that wanting to consolidate by means of getting a further advance does not allow the settlement of a credit card to be included in the calculation of qualifying criteria. So at the moment my bond amound is supposed to increase because of this as per sms received but the funds is still not allocated to my vehichle finance to settle the settlement figure received from Standard Bank. Paying funds from one department to another within the same orginisation so far has taken 3 working days and yet still no satisfaction. It seems *****ulant to me as the bank costs involved due to this will not be reversable and yet I will be forced to still pay my bond even though my vehichle finance is still as is before the whole agreement was taken to get the funds to consolidate. I would have to look at other ways to use the equity in my house to consolidate my debt as Standard Bank does not allow this kind of transactions . There are a few Financial instances that does this kind of thing. I have done it before so I f they can not assist with a solution I will not have any other option to star looking at other options not in the standard bank group. I hope that Standarda Bank does realise tht this was not an acceptable experience and that the service received has been terrible since day 1.To top it all off I have been told twice that the funds will be paid into my current account. First it was incorrect information that they apologised for and this morning I am told that when they do the payment from Homeloans to vehicle finance it is rejected.
