Standard bank ***** department inefficient

IN 2016 Standard bank (SBSA) alerted me to a case of impersonation after they received what looked line a ********** application (supposedly from me) for a diners club account. After confirming that it was indeed **********, SBSA put a "***** block/stop" on my ID as measure to prevent further abuse. Because of this block, I've not been able to apply for any credit. On 27 December 2019, I app**** for the removal of this block to enable me to apply for finance. As part of my application I submitted all the supporting documents to SBSA Application ***** Dept and a case was opened for investigation. I was advised that the investigation would take 30 working days - meaning I should've received the outcome on 9th or 10th February 2020. After submission by email, no acknowledgment of receipt, not reference number and no updates on progress. The only communication received early in Jan was a request for re-submission of documents - which i grumpily did. Upon calling them on 10 Feb 2020 I get told the case is still in progress and if I'm lucky it might be completed end of week, 14th Feb 2020. This would be tolerable if my case wasnt urgent. But I advised them on numerous occasions that I have a counter signed OTP that obligates me to provide finance within a specified date. I advised that I'm unable to apply for finance because all the banks would reject my application because of the block on my ID. I impressed upon the ***** department and SBSA centurion lifestyle branch the urgency of my case but they've been indifferent. I emailed the complaints department but theres not been any response or acknowledgement. SBSA Twitter channel was just as useless. The whole process has just been frustrating especially considering the amount of time and money spent visiting the SBSA branch and calling the ***** department. I've tried all avenues with no luck. I feel defeated. The OTP is going to expire and when it does, having failed to organize finance, I'm going to lose my hefty deposit and the house I wanted to buy. I'm hoping the complaints resolution team or this post on hello peter will trigger some resolution before the otp expires. I have proven my identity through supporting documents so not sure why this is so difficult to resolve. Case number 189768

Reviewer Update
SBSA with help from SA ***** Protection Services (SAFPS) have addressed the matter. I received an official letter confirming that i was a victim of impersonation and upon presentation of same to banks and/or retailers every time I apply for credit facilities, it will prove my identity and circumstances around my ID. Having said that, as the saying goes, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, so I will apply for my bond with all banks and hope my application, if rejected, will be for reasons other than the ********** activities in 2016.
It didnt have to take Hello Peter, ocial medical and escalation process to get to this point. Nonetheless, thanks SBSA and SAFPS. I'll update the review later
