Standard Bank executors
Our mother passed away, September 2021. All legal documents in place, a second marriage, prenup in place. No children within the 2nd marriage. It has been 3 years. What is her state of affairs with STB as the executor? Currently as it stands, ALL LOST. How? Due to a summons against the executor not acted on, nor rep**** on within the indicated date as per the summons. We, the heirs, not even made aware of it, until long after the date was overdue.
We requested an explanation on how this could have happened? Ignored. When I voiced our shock as to what has transpired over the 3 years, the blame-shifting started. We are in possession of paper trail of +/- 300 emails between ourselves, STB and lawyers. Lawyers that STB introduced US to. Documented legal advise to the administrator/executor. Ignored. When you speak to both the administrator and the executor, you notice, the executor cannot answer certain questions, as they are not on the same page. An email received from them, with sympathies, empathies&apologies due to the state of our mothers affairs. Another email to us stating that STB will ‘at their costs’ find a way to find a solution which will suit all involved. Here we are....nearly 3 months later, still waiting. If not for the paper-trail, of constant pleas to the administrator, executor, on concerns, discrepancies incorrect information ect, we would not been given the time of day. Who we are, where we come from, even the inheritance from our grandparents, lost at the hands of STB that deem themselves professionals at estate management. I’m sorry, let me re-phrase; ‘at the hands of the individuals STB employs, to represent them with utmost professionalism and respect for the service they wish to offer to their clients”. Hoping that through this platform, STB management might now give our mother’s estate the attention it deserved. We will provide with Estate NAME details and administrator/executor details on request. Really would like to sit at a table with management, to show them, not tell them, SHOW them, what has transpired. Adding to the trauma of the loss of our mother. Not just us as her children, but trauma this has caused her grandchildren as well. Hoping to hear from STB ESTATE management soon. Michelle Maritz
