Standard bank Estate Late department

I’m just sharing my experience on behalf of my friend who is quite frustrated with standard bank. He was advised to get a letter of executorship/letter of authority after his dad passed away last year ( he had an account with std bank). He has visited the standard bank Kingsmead branch in Durban to submit the letter from the Master so the late dads bank account can be closed off and the funds to be transferred to him as executor of the estate.

He was advised on more than one occasion that the docs need to be sent to a department that deals with late estates, but he should wait for a call from that particular department requesting the documents .He is still waiting over a week- no call, no email. It’s quite unfair for him and his siblings who are waiting for a call to redirect on what to do to no avail. The funds in their dads account will be useful for some of his siblings who are unemployed. Please assist
