Standard bank doesn't want to give me my logbook.

I bought a car through std bank finance ,in 2006 October, I paid residual after a sherrif called and threatened to repossess my car, I had financial issues,my husband took a loan and paid up,to date when I ask for my logbook I'm told my name is still in legal department,when I call legal department there's no help .everytime i call I'm told samething to contact legàl department. I need my car papers
