Standard Bank Does not Care about a customer's situation

I have been in a situation where I realized that Standard Bank will do whatever it takes to get outstanding Debts from their Clients even if it means doing it in a very distasteful manner. I had a VAF with Standard Bank many years ago and was retrenched and struggling to find solid work for almost 2 years in mining and steel.

I was under debt review at the time and struggled to make ends meet and couldn't pay my bills at the time but tried where I could, as food and lodging was first priority.

Long story short, I gave up my car to standard bank after begging them to just give me a bit more time to recover even though I knew I was very overdue on payments. I was genuinely in a very low place in my life, but a consultant simply told me, we don't care, you should have paid your debts and we need to recover the vehicle.

After being treated so poorly in a terrible situation I had no choice but to give up my vehicle. They stated they will collect the vehicle and provide me feedback on what happened with the sale.

I tried contacting Standard bank at the time with no actual response or information on the vehicle.

From what I can recall after the whole incident, they never really contacted me again or gave me updates after taking my car.

In 2017 November, I checked by MIE credit report to find a Judgment had been placed on my name in 2016? by Standard Bank??? I went to inquire with Standard Bank as to why this was on my name? and why this debt was not brought to my attention sooner? including why was I not contacted by a sheriff or someone from Standard bank to confirm the Judgment so that I could challenge it?

The whole story was very shady and unfair and somehow over 6 YEARS, Standard bank somehow circumvented and twisted the system to get a Judgment on my name which has affected my career as I work in Financial institutions and due to their uncouth and malicious acts, instead of prescribing the debts or reaching out to me and allowing me to challenge them or make arrangements they simply went for ruining my life.

Standard Bank in my Opinion do not care about their customer's well being or how to help them through hard times in this country which were outside of civilians control. It is truly disturbing to think that Standard Bank would go to such lengths to destroy a persons name and through very shady methods try to get their money back.

If you have debt with Standard Bank, I suggest you move it to a financial institution which will actually try to help you instead of do you in.
