Standard Bank Decides to freeze my account

Last night I decided to take my husband out for dinner. I requested the bill, and swiped with my Standard Bank Cheque card. To my surprise the card kept on declining. Feeling annoyed, I agreed to go to the nearest ATM to withdraw cash to pay my bill. I received the following error: Your request can not be processed, there are no accounts linked to your card.

I phoned them, the agent on the line advised me that Standard Bank froze my account because I didn't take my ID and proof of residence to RICA my account with them.

I told the agent that I gave them all this documentation when I opened my account with them so why do I need to supply it again? He rep**** that they did notify me to do this and that they are doing this to eliminate ********** activities from happening. My question to him was, does the money in my account belong to you? No. So who the hell are you to decide for me that you have to Freeze my account to reduce *****?

I told him to fix it now! Sorry mam the people in our FICA department has already left.
I felt so embarrassed to tell the attendant that I cannot pay for my bill. But clearly Standard Bank doesn't give a **** about my problem.

Disgusting!
