Standard Bank debits extra amounts for car installments without authorization from the client
My car is financed by standard bank, on the 1st of June a debit order went off of R9800.00 while my month installment is R8000.00. When I called in they told be its because they needed proof of insurance and it was unfortunate that they captured my details incorrectly which lead to them debiting and extra R1800.00 from my account. They also advised that they took a car insurance without me knowing on my behalf. This is ******** and wrong to debit someones account without them knowing and then claim that their details were captured incorrectly when confronted. Standard bank do as they want with peoples accounts and no one holds them accountable for their actions. I have never experienced such with Nedbank and I have a home loan with them. Nedbank calls, email and even sends letters if the are any changes. I remember I communicated with Standard Bank in February 2020 notifying them the date of resuming work after maternity leave but funny enough they claimed they captured my details incorrectly.
