Standard bank cruelty, ********ity and total disregard for their employees
Im an ex-employee of Standard bank, I would like to expose this bank on how they treat their employees which of course as an effect on customers. 2020 March I was diagnosed with chronic illness, upon my return to work that's was the beginning of end of my employment journey at the bank as i experienced at most cruelty for management and disrespect. My chronic illness was disregarded, was the only permanent employee forced to work at the office while everyone worked from and finally to cover up their incompetence they created a reason to fire unfairly, to top it all of the agencies put in place to assist against such cruelty where easily paid of to protect Standard bank. These agencies are SASBO as well as CCMA. 1. Medical condition - when I returned to work the company wellness department compiled a back to work integration fitness program to as as to my ability to execute my duties after being diagnosed. That program was not followed instead I was bossed and abused not even an assessment document was sent to my doctor instead I was verbally to tell my doctor to make recommendations. All my endeavours to try speak to them in order to rectify issues were ignored.
2. COVID19 RULES - President of South Africa set rules to follow during lockdown, like first people to considered for work from home were elderly people close to retirement as well as all people with chronic illness. In my case as per the bank it did not apply result being me travelling to the office everyday.
3. Dismissal - I was charged the gross negligence by creating a loss for the bank, a disciplinary enquiry was held which the verdict went against me which placed me in the unemployed book.
4. Extra comments - how the disciplinary Enquiry together proved that this was just organized for due process, as it had alot of discrepancies e.g. First date was set for the 22nd March 2021 a public holiday. Explanation fro the bank it was a mistake they did realize it was a holiday. Yet if I had to work on that holiday I would have known atleast 2 weeks before the actual date. When i went to collect the form with a new date i picked up that the amount for the loss had changed from R49 000 to over R100 000. I received a final written warning for absenteeism in December 2020 (4 days), yet I sent an email to my doctor regarding me being absent a lot on the 30th October 2020, in the email I cc'd all my line managers team leader, ***** call center manager as well as wellness department. They fabricated a report falsely advising they sent to their company to their who referred me to hospital o the 28th February. Yet I was at work that day and was of that weekend. they tried to shut me up by offering me R46 000 in order to sweep the ********ity under carpet.
Its three years now unable to find employment let alone the high unemployment in South Africa at 33.5% to show how cruel they are i was black listed meaning finding employment has become three times harder due my chronic illness plus the unemployment challenges facing our country. I have not be tacking my medication as I have no stable income and my medication costs me R3000 per month. I was the only bread winner home we now are counted as one of those families leaving below poverty level.
