Standard Bank Credit Cards for the Elderly - with NO insurance???

Standard Bank use to be my mother and ****hers combined bank account. My dad passed away (80years) in April, the Bank was advised with the necessary paperwork, and then claims were completed as to cover the monies owing to the bank form said. However once again, one consultant said the insurance were cancelled as the do not insure over 75 year old??? then the rudeness just escalated by their way of deaing with the case. Same as with another bank, my dad had Alzheimers, he was 80, yet had a credit limit of R22k - and his pension was lower than R3500 pm. No by saying that: why is it that ols folk has credit facilities at that age, and with no insurance (as per them), me and my brother had to pay in just over R20k to settle this debt, with to me is bad Financial ethics. Is there anyone out there that had similar issues, and how can we right all the wrongs here?? Regards
