STANDARD BANK CHATSWORTH STILL HAS MY DECEMBER 2018 SALARY WITH THEM

I had a Standard Bank account and then got tired of the poor service. I then switched my salary account to FNB and I did not close my Standard Bank account. This was an oversight on my part. The account was then handed over to a third party collections agency named Daly Credit Corp. I owed Standard Bank R 4655.09 and I had to make an arrangement to pay this money. I was aware of this but had not made any payment arrangement as yet. On the 7th of December 2018 a salary of mine got erroneously deposited into my old Standard Bank cheque account. My employer attempted to get the monies back so they could pay me into the correct salary account but to no avail. I had been to the Chatsworth branch several times during December only to be told that the account was closed and that nothing could be seen on the account. I was only given a letter stating that my account was closed. This was of no value as this was not news to me and I already had similar documents in my possession. When my workplace reopened on the 8th of January this year I queried why I didn’t receive payment and they indicated that Standard Bank had not return the monies.

This year when I went to the bank, on the 11th of January, I spoke the Service manager at Standard Bank Chatsworth. She explained that I must deal with the 3rd party and once again reiterated that the account was closed. She called the 3rd party, Daly Credit Corp, and wrote a note, for me, on a piece of paper. It had the reference number: ********** the name “Norma” and the date “18th.” I was then told to contact them directly and that the bank could not communicate with the 3rd party, on my behalf, any further. She told me to call the Daly Credit Corp on the 18th of January.

Since the 18th of January I have contacted the Daly Credit Corp numerous times. I keep getting told to wait. On the 18th I was told by Daly Credit Corp to wait until the 25th and on the 25th I was told to wait until the 4th. Now today is the 4th I am being told to wait again. I was also today by one of the Daly Credit Corp consultants that they have no idea when I will get my monies returned. It all depends on Standard Bank.

The thing is that an amount of R23 649.12 was deposited into that old Standard Bank account. The Daly Credit Corp indicated to me that the reason the monies could not returned to my employer is because the monies owed to Standard by me had been taken off that amount therefore the full amount was no longer available to be returned. One email from a Daly’ consultant read: “Settlement calculations: R 4655.09 * 70% = R 3259.00 - R23 649.12 = R 20390.12 will be refunded to you if approved by the client.”

So Standard Bank gave me a 30% discount on the money I owed them but still seem to be keeping the change. Amazing how Standard bank can take what is owed to them almost instantly but can’t return the balance to the rightful owner timeously. I keep getting the run around from Daly Credit Corp and they keep saying it is Standard Bank are the ones with the funds and also the rights to release them. Why is it so hard to pay me my own money? I have incurred interest on payments I was supposed to settle but could not because of Standard Bank’s reluctance to refund. I cannot hand this stress of waiting without any cer*****y. I have lost so much airtime and money traveling to the bank and making long calls and being placed on hold for ages. Standard Banks complaints procedure is not online so I have to physically go to the bank to complain. AND only after I give them a chance to resolve this then I have the option to go the ombudsman. This is all very time consuming and will require me to travel to a physical branch. I am tired of this matter and I need resolution immediately and desperately.

Help!!!
