Standard Bank can I have my money back and close my account, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought groceries at Checkers Blaau Village using my standard bank card on monday the 20th. Upon payment, I swiped my card and the money was transacted from my account but apparently the payment did not go through to the shops account and is now in "Limbo" So I'm stuck with a payment that I did not receive the good for. I went to the Standard Bank Pretoria North Service Centre which is by far the most useless standard bank branch I have come across and did not get assistance they told me to go Checkers and checkers tells me to go standard bank.

I can't begin to explain how much of an inconvenience this has been and how much it has costed me. right now I just want to close my account but I have to wait for the money in question to be reversed first.
