Standard Bank can do better in selection of bond registration attorneys

My bond was approved by Standard Bank Home Loans in December 2018. The registration attorney appointed by Standard Bank was Ndibi Britain. I personally followed up on everything to ensure the process was fast tracked. When I went to sign the bond documents, I was rushed through the process by the attorney. The documents were not explained to me. Standard Bank had offered a further interest rate discount if I switch to Standard Bank which I indicated I would take up, the attorney told me when I indicated I wanted the discount that the documents were already drawn up and there was nothing that could be done even though the bond originator had documents from when the bond was granted indicating I would take up the offer. When Standard Bank contacted me about switching, the attorney then threatened to charge me more for changing the documents. She went further to call me and shout at me. When I indicated she cannot shout at a client, she said yes she can and her client was Standard Bank not me. Never mind that I paid more than R30k to that firm that Standard Bank appointed. I lost out on that discount which would have reduced my bond and interest over the term.
