Standard Bank Breaches POPIA Act
Standard Bank please explain this: I noticed a "Hard Inquiry was removed by Standard Bank Powercurve" from my credit portfolio this month. Apparently it was done on 8 March 2023 and was on my portfolio for a year. What is "Standard Bank Powercurve?". This is what I see on my credit portfolio by standard bank. This damaged my credit profile as I have always kept it clean and all my payments are on time. Some have even been paid before the end of term. Now I find that this is on my profile. I called the call centre and was sent from pillar to post with eventually being assisted by customer resolution. No one at standard bank has ever heard of "Standard Bank Powercurve", how amazing is that, and yet I have an account i never opened with you. After that, been transferred to general eniquiries. The lady assisted me, but did not want to divulge any information about the "account" I supposedly have. I have never had any kind of account, credit card, loan, car or house with standard bank. How on earth do I have an account opened with you? I tried to apply for a loan with my bank last year and was declined and yet I know that my portfolio and score is very good. 675/740. I couldnt understand why. Standard bank has damaged my credit portfolio because their IT security is not up to scratch. I will be getting my lawyer involved in this matter. I looked up this "Hard Inquiry" and this is what came up: "Removing a hard inquiry can raise your credit score if it's recent, but it may have no impact at all. While hard inquiries stay on your credit report for around two years, they only affect your score for about six months to a year. So, removing a hard inquiry over a year old may not raise your score". This was on my portfolio for a year. So my credit score got affected because of your sloppy IT security. I NEVER HAD, DO NOT HAVE AND NEVER WILL HAVE ANY CREDIT WITH YOU. I want aswers and will be taking this to social media as well. I will also be addressing it with the banking ombudsman.
A service request *** was logged. Heres my question: " why would you log a service request if I did not have an account with you? The lady even had my details on your system that I had to verify before she could access "my account" which I am not aware of. How is this possible Standard Bank, HOW? The lady did not want to give any information and then still told me I will hear back from them by the 7 March??? Really??? 2 weeks turnaround time whilst my information is lingering on your systems? Let's review POPIA and CPA shall we?? Now your Trust Index is going to fall. I am going to make sure of this.. This is my personal information that you have on your system. To the CEO @Sim Tshabalala this is going to be posted all over and tagging you and standard bank. Lets take this to this viral shall we?
