Standard Bank bad experience

On Sunday, 1st March, I had some extra cash that I needed to deposit at the Std Bank ATM which is free (you are charged for inside the bank). I live in Greenstone and went to the Greenstone Mall which has 5 ATM's where deposits could be made. To my amazement, not even one of them was accepting cash (deposits). I then drove to Woodmead which is approx 15km away. To my surprise, both ATM's where one could deposit, did not accept cash deposits as well. Is this a way of Standard Bank forcing people to make deposits at the tellers in order to make more more out of us?
