STANDARD BANK ARE ******* AND CONNIVING
It is really discouraging to solve problems everyday of our life's, this is shortening our life span and emotionally draining. How can a gigantic entity like Standard bank be so cruel and inconsiderate. I previously requested a payment holiday due to the negative impact the COVID pandemic had on my finances. I was so happy it was granted for my credit card and for the personal loan it was declined, but at least I had a breather for a couple of months. Last month I received a miniature lump sum and decided to settle my personal loan which was more than a R160 000. With the intention of paying my credit card on a monthly basis as initially agreed and also double the payments to fast track the term. Yesterday I nearly collapsed when I saw a deduction of R20 000 from my account. This has caused havoc in my life and dismantled my financial integrity. I don't have the alternative means to move forward given that the money had other commitments. When I contacted the bank they told me the amount is due to the interests accumulated during the holiday period. should I have known that I was going to be pushed into poverty because of the payment break, I wouldn't have opted for it. The question is; 1. Who gave the bank authority to fiddle with my account without my concern. 2. If I didn't have money in my account how where they going to debit. 3. Why didn't they inform me that my account is going to accumulate such a ridiculous amount of interest. Pay the money back into my account before I escalate the matter to the banking ombudsman. Debit just the amount on the initial agreement I entered with you nothing else. Your behaviour is sickening and very unprofessional fix your mess.
